I'm still full of adrenaline... because I just booked my flight back home for Christmas! :D It was a bit too expensive maybe (waited a bit too long), but I'm still glad I booked it.

I don't know why but I was super nervous booking it. And I kind of suspect that my flight back to Norway is a bit too late (it's on the first day of the semester), but I couldn't afford an earlier flight back.

Now I feel weirdly Christmas-y even though it's still so long to go! :) Maybe because it feels like everyone on the Internet is talking about Halloween and Thanksgiving, and that gives me all these holiday feelings, but the only one we have is Christmas? Who knows... :)

Eeeek, excited! Wonn't have to spend Christmas alone, and get to have a nice visit in Berlin, too, since I am flying to and from there! :D

So, turns out I wasn't exaggerating when I said it'd be months before I got around to posting some more pictures... Who'd have thought! xD

I proudly present you here: photos from my travel across the Baltic states way back this summer! Today: Lietuva aka Lithuania! :)

So, to jog your memory a bit, here is the last post I made, the one about Latvia. So check it to see what this post is about (in the likely case that you've forgotten it over the last two months xD), if you want to. :)

To match it to the last post, it'd be nifty to start with a song again, yes? ;) Aaaand I chose you, glittery Eurovision band! xD

I actually really love this song and still think it's a shame they didn't make it to the finals. The text also is very Baltic, so I guess it fits in here. :)

Image-heavy glory this way comes! :D )

So, yeah, those were a lot of photos... :)

Hope you enjoyed it and see you again in the last part about Estonia? ♥

ETA: So... I just noticed I haven't resized the pictures beforehand... I won't go through them now because if I do I might go insane! So yeah. Hope you have good bandwidth.

God, this took me an eternity... and it will be another till I finish it. But I will, I have lots of photos to show off! ;)

Okay, let’s start with some background stuff. My entry title is from the song composed for the "Baltic Way", an event where about 2 million people from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania formed a human chain 650 km long between Vilnius and Tallinn via Riga. It happened in August 1989 as a peaceful protest against the Soviet Republic. When I read about it, it made me cry, so I thought, I should bring it up here. :)
Here is a video with the song:

And the lyrics and a translation can be found here.

(Obs! For given reasons the following post is image heavy! ;))

Okay, but enough with history (awesome, AWESOME history), let’s get on with the photos, shall we? )

My next post will have pictures of Lithuania and tons of them at that! :D I guess I will also put some more pictures of Latvia in there, since we crossed it again on our way to Estonia.

So, stay tuned for post number two! It will only take months a short while! See you! :D

ETA: Part 2 can be found here.

Back again.

*yawns*

*stretches*

So, hey, I am back from two awesome, interesting, adventurous and just plain wonderful weeks in the Baltic States.

Eestimaa, Latvija and Lietuva were all amazing and I can't tell which I like more than the others, I just love them all. ♥

I have taken massive amounts of photos and thinking of doing lots of spamming here, if anyone is even remotely interested in seeing them. :)

And I'm so sorry about if you didn't get a card because I read you reply too late!! I should just start putting those posts up earlier! Sorry!

I'll see if I can catch up with LJ but two weeks is just a long time... :/

Anyway, I wish you a good night and leave you with that for now:

Photobucket
Night sky over Riga.

urania: (P-DOG)
LJ doesn't let me comment or answer comments for two days now! >(
When I posted this Finland entry it took me about 100 tries, and now this?! Grrr...
So, you might have to wait some more till I get around to answer comments, but as soon as I can, I will! Promise! :)

In other good news (good for me at least, hehe...):
The book department in Galeria Kaufhof is quite shitty at most times, but now they had a sale on some travel guides! :D I just LOVE travel guides, I love to read them before I go to bed, and the imagine trips to just about everywhere as I fall asleep. It may be a little weird, but it just makes me so happy. :)
And now they had them for only 1€ each! Of course I couldn't resist and bought three... They mostly had stuff about popular destinations during the summer months Turkish beaches, Spanish islands and such, but I found some more interesting ones, or rather ones that I find more interesting. About...
Portugal,
Scotland,
and Dubai.
I've started reading the one about Dubai and this whole country sounds kinda batshit insane to me! xD But that doesn't stop me from saving for a one day stay at Burj Al-Arab...

This brought this site to my mind again. And now, don't tell me you don't kinda think it is weird?

Already looking forward to reading the other two guides! (And hoping to be able to comment soon...)

Oh, and btw, [livejournal.com profile] ai_chi, I just have to ask now since I can't comment, please explain what is the whole story about Ceiling!Mohinder! Please? :)

ETA: Oh yay, seems like I can comment again! :D

So, I was in Helsinki (and also on a day trip to Tallinn) with [livejournal.com profile] isegrim_chan and –

I know, I know, I’m too late.

Recently I am incredibly lazy concerning my LJ updated but it’s not like I’d have something better to do! Ha! I guess I’m just not used to writing anymore... come to think of it, my handwriting has gone a lot worse since school is out... And then on top of that, my computer decided to hate me! HATE ME!

Anyway, enough of that, I promised you some photos of Helsinki and Tallinn and here they are now! Enjoy! (Like we did! ;)) ♥

Photobucket

'Pankki' really does sound cuter than 'bank' )
urania: (anders og tom)
Moi moi, I'm back from my short but wonderful visit to Helsinki in beautiful Suomi with [livejournal.com profile] isegrim_chan! :) And we didn't just stay there, we also made a short trip to Tallinn which was wonderful! ♥

Again, I made tons of fotos, and again, I'm probably going to show a few here if anyone is interested. :)

My impression in few words: I love Finland! And I live Helsinki! And Tallinn! And the architecture is actually more Russian than I thought.
urania: (polarlicht)
Okay, so there we go, the second part of my Iceland post! Granted, it took a day longer than I said, but that’s just because... I was so busy playing Wurzelimperium! I’m sorry and somewhat ashamed but the game is just so... senseless. And cute. Argh.

Part 1 is here.

And the curtain rises once again! )

Wow, I think this one’s even longer than Part 1...
urania: (Default)
Okay, so I needed some time, but making an Iceland entry and sorting through tins of photos is no picknick (if you’re me!).

I don’t think I’ll write as much as usual, it’d just take too long...

Photobucket
(A geothermal power plant near Mývatn.)

Beware, there are many, many photos to follow...

So let the show begin. )

Anyway, I shall post the rest of it tomorrow. :)

ETA: Part 2 is here.
urania: (polarlicht)
Like I told you, I'm back home. :)

Iceland was very, very awesome and I love it there. ♥ More, a post with pictures (if you like?) is to follow sometime later. :)

Now there will be a lot of reading old LJ entries... xD Catching up is so much work!

More information soon, coming to a LJ near you.

And, [livejournal.com profile] ai_chi, look what happened!
This is a speacial ai_chi cut! (Or for anyone that likes green. :)) )
urania: (Default)
Okay, I have been incredibly lazy concerning updating my LJ. I don't know why. I had some stuff to do, but not that much!

Anyway, I planned a gigantic post with pictures of the Abizeitung, and the Abistreich and the Abiball, but well. I didn't. Argh. I will make up for it when I'm here again. After I have done my holiday picture post. Or something.

I'm so excited and can't wait for tommorrow! Iceland here I come! :D [livejournal.com profile] robtengel gave me "Insidertipps", and how can I be prepared any better? ;D

And another thing I haven't mentioned here yet, I have already booked another trip this summer! I'm going to Helsinki with [livejournal.com profile] isegrim_chan! :D This summer is just so very awesome! :)

And I forgot to ask if anyone wants a postcard from Iceland, but now it's too late. :/ But you can have one from Helsinki! :D

In some other news, I have sent my application to the Humboldt Uni in Berlin and I'm so scared now! I don't quite know why, but I'm anxious. I have rarely wished for anything so much like for a positive answer! And yet I don't know whether they got my application at all, my postcard that confirms it has not yet arrived... Please cross your fingers for me!

So, um, that's it for now. Hope you have a nice summer! You'll be seeing more of me when I'm back (Monday in a week). :)

urania: (awesome)
I know, I know, I said I was gonna write this much sooner, but what can I say? I didn't really have time, my PC is terribly slow and also, I was lazy. But now here it comes. My Austria report! ♥

I was really looking forward to it, and expected Austria to be a nice place, but in the end it was a lot nicer then I had expected. (The sunny weather might also have played a role... xD)
And Bavaria... was... okay. I just can't bring myself to really like it, but when I'm honest, I have to say, it was quite nice.

So now, let my blah and the photos begin... )

Whew, that's it. I didn't really write as much as I wanted here, but please excuse me, I'm so very tired and my computer is so very annoying. Going to bed now and dreaming about my next holiday in Iceland.

Góða nótt everybody.

Hei, I'm back! :D And it was a w e s o m e . I loved it, I love Austria. :)

More tomorrow with photos if anyone is interested.

(Catching up will be a lot of work...)
urania: (polarlicht)
So, as you might know I'm going to visit Austria. :) *is very excited*

And if you want a postcard, I'll send you one, just leave your address here. :) Getting postcards is nice, isn't it? ;) And don't hesitate to ask, I like sending them. So, feel free!

Two final exams down, one to go! German went okay but not as good as math... *coughs*. ^_^

ETA: Upps, forgot to screen comments, I'm sorry... ^^; (And now THEY ARE! xD)
urania: (Default)
(Passiert wenigstens mal was da! xD)

Huiuiui, le spam, le spam...

ETA: Oh, ich hab heut Namenstag! :D Und Aki hat Gerburtstag! :) Also hier auch nochmal, herzlichen Glückwunsch, meine Liebe. :)
urania: (dreaming Tsu-chan)
So, yeah, I'm back. Amsterdam was awesome, very awesome. But I got my wallet stolen, that wasn't very awesome...

Anyway, I'm too tired and too busy with catching up stuff online to write a report and I don't have many pretty photos either, so just let me give you a few impressions.

Amsterdam, how much I love you! )
urania: (OMFGYAY!)

So, I'm going to Amsterdam with my class on Friday and will stay there till next Thursday evening.

I'm so excited! :D I love the Netherlands but I haven't been to Amsterdam yet. I can hardly wait till Friday. xD Hope I can take lots of photos and it's not going to be all class trip like but fun... xD

Hehehe, and I promise you I won't be doing anything illegal! ;D
urania: (tristan & isolde)
So, as you all know, I was in Ireland for holidays and I really had a great time. <3

I also took lots of photos like I planned (or rather my ma did... xD), but I'm afraid they're not a pretty as you think, them being from Ireland, but merely your standard tourist photos.

If you want to look at them anyway, then follow this cut... )
urania: (supernatural)
Okay, so I'm back from Ireland. :) Holidays are so much fun and very interesting, but I always like coming home. <3

I'll catch up on my f-list tomorrow (today I'll have a few friends over so I won't be able to) or at least try to. xD And if I can manage I'll make a post with pictures and stuff like the one I did for London (remember?).

So, uhm... Glad to be back I guess. <3 *hugs everyone*
