So, as you all know, I was in Ireland for holidays and I really had a great time. <3
I also took lots of photos like I planned (or rather my ma did... xD), but I'm afraid they're not a pretty as you think, them being from Ireland, but merely your standard tourist photos.
Day 1 & 2 - Dublin
We spent our first three days in Dublin, but because our flight was delayed about two and a half hours we arrived so late, we just went straight to our B&B and slept. So we really had only two days, but I think that was enough for seeing Dublin. I thought it wasn't as spectacular and awesome as London, but rather dirty and full of construction sights. xD
Anyway, that's me on our first day there, look how optimistic I am, after running around in Dublin for hours and seeing nothing yet! xD

But then we went to Trinity College, where I only saw tourists and no students...

We also saw the Book of Kells (which apparently is the most beautiful book in the world!) and the Long Room which is this amazing library with tons of old books! And this very pretty harp which is a symbol for Ireland (and Guinness...). But it was forbidden to take photos. D:
Then we went and saw the Christ Church Cathredal which was interesting, but I was kinda pissed we had to pay to get in, I mean, it's a church...

But it was pretty!

And they had pretty windows!

The Christ Church Cathredal also is the place where a mummified cat and a rat were found in an organ pipe, years after they got stuck there, one chasing the other. I find this morbidly poetic...

We visited the Guinness Storehouse! Yay~! It was very interesting even if I don't like beer (except for the mix kind). So afterwards (after tasting a sample of Guinness) I just drank a coke and was stared at as if I was some kind of criminal! xD

(Oh and the bag I have there is from the Hard Rock Café! xD I always wanted to go to one. :))
On our second day we did a lot of sitting around ('cause my ma didn't feel well) and spent a lot of time in this park where I noticed that there are far more young Italians in Dublin than there are Irish people.

And we ate sandwiches in front of this wonderful wall. :D

After that we went to visit the Irish National Museum which was very interesting. It was mostly about the vikings and ancient history. With pretty gold jewelery. ;)
Besides Italians there were a lot of Polish people in Dublin. And I bought Prince Polo in a Polish supermarket 'cause I LOVE Prince Polo! :D

Day 3 & 4 - Galway and vicinity, Connemara
We then rented a car to drive around in south-west Ireland. First we went to Galway where we stayed two nights (and not in Cork as I told you!) and we drove around a little bit. It's weird to drive one the left side. And the streets were so narrow, I was always scared my mum would crash our car against the walls at the side of the road. xD
We took a little walk in very Irish weather and admired the landscape. The hills were misty at the top and there was this very mystical atmosphere. So amazing. :)

(Ignore my atempt at posing! xD)

Isn't that just so Irish? *loves* (And my ma is smoking... *tsk*)

Then we at dinner (fish and chips) in Clifden in such a cute pub. Me loves. :D
On our drive through the country we came across ruins and a cemetery and the rainy weather just added to the atmosphere...

Another picture I just find so beautiful in a way that might be a little morbid...

There were a lot of ruins and little walls like that everywhere.

And there were a lot of cows, even more than sheep. xD

Then we saw the Cliffs of Moher that really belong to the most impressive sights I've ever seen. There were a lot of tourists (naturally), but we went on a way which actually was forbidden to walk on, and there were less tourists and the view over the cliffs and the sea was even better.

And you could step right at the edge and look down. So scary!

On the other side were cows. xD

Then we also walked over the Burren for a little. But it was so stony that soon my feet hurt like hell. xD

The sea! We could bath our feet in the sea! But it was so cold... and still there were people swimming, I was fascinated. o_o

In Galway there was the Arts Festival and on Friday played The Dandy Warhols, but sadly we were in Dublin by that time. xD (Also look at the man standing in thr river!)

Day 5 - Killarney and vicinity
On our way to Killarney we stopped in Limerick to shop a little. And eat at McDonald's. *cough* And I have to say... I quite like Limerick, or at least, I liked what I saw of it. :)
In Killarney we visited Muckross Abbey and Muckross House, or rather the gardens. The ruins of the Abbey were so impressive! And there was a yew tree growing in the yard and there was a cemetery with old stone tombstones, and right there I understood how a lanscape like that can inspire people to invent legends and myths like the Irish have.
And those gardens, they were the most beautiful I have ever seen! Ever! Very big and just so... wonderful. *dreams a little*
Sadly, we forgot our camera in the car. I'm still frustrated because that would have been the most beautiful photos ever. *sighs*
We ate dinner in another cute pub. :)

Day 6 - Cork and vicinity
We drove around the Ring of Kerry and wow, those were some spectecular sights. *____*

The roads were very narrow and so twisting that I was really glad I wasn't allowed to drive (me not having my licence longer than two years...)
I could have stared at the landscape for days. And days. And days.

Me and my ma being nerds on a parking place. xD

We also visited the Balone Heritage Park which was very intersting.
This is me in front of some really cool Celtic circle thing.

I think the calendar functions those stone circles have are amazing. To be able to build something like that is just so admirable!

In Cork we stayed in the frilliest B&B I've ever seen! :D

Day 7 - Drive to Dublin, Blarney Castle
We also visited the Blarney Castle because we wanted to kiss the Blarney Stone which I of course did. xD Maybe now that helps me with my writing... One might never know... ;)
And I wasn't as unenthusiastic as I look in this pic! xD

View from the Blarney Castle. I think it's wonderful. :)

Then we strolled around a little. :)

That was one cool tree!

And this is Blarney House, but it wasn't open for visitors on the day of our visit. :(

And right there, the gap you can see at the top of the tower, that is where you have to kiss the Blarney Stone in this really complicated way. But I did it. :D

And then when were arrived in Dublin at our last B&B which was on the outskirts of the city, we were too tired to go shopping so we went ro Skerries, which is a town at the sea, and a really nice town at that. :)
When we were back at our B&B (which belonged to these really nice older people!) we just played Rommé and admired the view.

Day 7 - Return to Germany
Ahaha, we almost missed our flight. Well, not really, but we could have. My ma thought it was at 7:50 am when it really was at 6:50 am. xD Luckily, we were there early, so we still had about 15 minutes to check in. xD
In Frankfurt we missed our train to Kassel and had to wait two hours for the next one. And in the train it was so hot, about 40°C, that you couldn't even sleep even though we were very tired. So I just finished the book I read. Which at least made the heat more interesting. xD

So, yeah, all in all it was a wondeful trip even if I didn't like Dublin as much as London. xD But Ireland is a beautiful (and expensive!) country.
