Ég tala ekki íslensku. (Part 1)
Jul. 16th, 2009 03:56 pmOkay, so I needed some time, but making an Iceland entry and sorting through tins of photos is no picknick (if you’re me!).
I don’t think I’ll write as much as usual, it’d just take too long...

(A geothermal power plant near Mývatn.)
Beware, there are many, many photos to follow...
Reykjavík

House of the Alþingi (Icelandic parliament). Very small and the place in front of it is pretty.

Statue of Leifur Eriksson, discoverer of America. It’s in front of the Hallgrímskirkja.

The Hallgrímskirkja. Of course there is a scaffold when I get to see impressing things...

Financial crisis???

A bookshop where I’d have LOVED to spend some time! Sadly, it was closed!

No dogs allowed in Reykjavík.
Þingvellir

I think this gap is the rift between the American and the European tectonic plates.

One of the rare places in Iceland where you are not allowed to walk anywhere you want!

I took so many pictures of clear lakes and rivers and creeks and I am still amazed!
Haukadalur

The Strokkur! :D (Both photos.) It’s a little smaller than the real geysir, but it errupts very often!

Gullfoss

It’s for a reason that it’s called the "Golden Waterfall". :)
Skógar and Skógafoss

Aaaaand the Skógafoss when viewed from the top.

Local sheep. :) There are many (MAAAAANY) sheep in Iceland.

Of course there are also many Icelandic horses!

A ruin we found in the "woods" behind our hotel. :)

Troll? :3

The Skógar museum. Very interesting! And pretty!
Skaftafell national park

Hundafoss. (Both pictures.)

Me looking pretty for a change. XD (Also: new haircut & colour!)

Svartifoss. There were wonderful hiking tracks in the Skaftafell national park. The shortest led to this beautiful waterfall. :)
TBC
... This is already getting too long! I just took too many photos! D:
Anyway, I shall post the rest of it tomorrow. :)
ETA: Part 2 is here.

Why are dogs forbidden? THEY ARE SO CUTE!
I kinda like your new haircut. :) But what color is it exactly? I have three ideas but I can't decide. :P
I just realized that I am the only German speaking person who answers/comments in English. Oh well...

Date: 2009-07-18 02:44 pm (UTC)yearssome time. :P *feels honoured*Yes! I'm so sad it was closed! On both occassions when we were in Reiykjavík! But I bought an Icelandic children's book in another store. :)
I don't understand it either! D: It`s one more thing that adds to the list of Reasons Why Akureyri Is Better Than Reykjavík!
Haha, then I'd like to hear the ideas first! :P
It's because you're...
easy to influenceadaptive! Like I obviously am! xDno subject
Date: 2009-07-18 05:13 pm (UTC)My ideas are: black, brown or lila. :) It#s something else, right? xD
That's nasty. xD I blame it on: English post = English comment. I think anything else looks kinda strange. :P
