So, I was in Helsinki (and also on a day trip to Tallinn) with [livejournal.com profile] isegrim_chan and –

I know, I know, I’m too late.

Recently I am incredibly lazy concerning my LJ updated but it’s not like I’d have something better to do! Ha! I guess I’m just not used to writing anymore... come to think of it, my handwriting has gone a lot worse since school is out... And then on top of that, my computer decided to hate me! HATE ME!

Anyway, enough of that, I promised you some photos of Helsinki and Tallinn and here they are now! Enjoy! (Like we did! ;)) ♥

Photobucket

So who was in Finland? – We were! :D

Photobucket
That’s on the ferry to Suomenlinna.

Yes, we are very serious persons! *nods* But we also had a lot of fun (at least I did, if Aki had, you have to ask her yourself! *g*).

So where shall I start? I took tons of pictures, but they’re not a beautiful natural phenomenons like the Iceland pictures, but since this was a city trip, they are naturally lots of buildings. And stuff. Anyway, I thought I’d just give you some impressions, but judging from the photobucket.com upload time, they’re still quite a lot.

So without further ado, there you go! :)

Photobucket
This is the Temppeliaukion kirkko, it is inside a rock and so basically underground.

Photobucket
It’s very pretty from the inside, too! :) You can look right at the sky through the roof.

Photobucket
This is the national museum. Sadly, we didn’t have enough time to visit it, but we walked past it quite a lot. xD I think it looks like it’s from a fairytale. ♥

Photobucket
I can see it right before my inner eye: Someone standing there and peeling the sticker of his banana every morning for a year...

Photobucket
The Finlandia hall sign! :D In the background you can see proof that it was warm.

Photobucket
And that’s it, the hall itself. :) There are reasons that the front looks like the backside, but I’m too lazy to explain them. xD

Photobucket
Those are the large windows facing the Töölö bay at the backside of the hall. They are in the... waiting are in front of the real concert/congress hall.

Photobucket
And when we wanted to visit the concert hall the light were out. The guide had to phone the front desk to turn them on. So we were left in the dark for quite some time... *spooky*

Photobucket
But then eventually the lights went on and it was kinda awesome.

Photobucket
Around the Finlandia hall there was a park, and there was this fountain where we ate quite often. Things we bought at the supermarket because we were too poor to buy a real meal. For example...

Photobucket
Minidonitsi! (Or as the Swedish say "Minimumkringar"!) ♥

Photobucket
The Töölö bay which looks like a lake but really is a bay.

Photobucket
Near the train station.

Photobucket
The Uspenski cathedral.

Photobucket
Sometimes you get the feeling that almost everything in Helsinki is build on rocks. That may be right...

Photobucket
This awesome vehicle is a tram and a pub at the same time! :D Sadly, we didn’t visit it...

Photobucket
The Helsingin tuomiokirkko. (Helsinki Cathedral) It is very impressive when standing in front of it. But the best thing is to hang out on those steps in front of it. :)

Photobucket
It’s also impressive from the inside, especially the organ.

Photobucket
We also went to the famous Finnish shopping mall Stockmann. Which is expensive. But we drank coffee there. Which I guess tasted alright for 2,30€ for a simple cup!

Photobucket
AND WE CLIMBED THE OLYMPICS TOWER! No, okay, we didn’t. There was an elevator.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
We were daring, hehehe...

Photobucket
That’s what I call a puddle! :D

Photobucket
Essential fact about every capital (except maybe Reykjavík): if you wanna survive with your feet intact, learn to use the public transport map! ;) (Also, this is one of Aki’s pictures.)

Photobucket
From the harbour you can take the ferry of the public transport system to Suomenlinna. Suomenlinna is pretty awesome and a UNESCO world heritage site, so there are many photos to follow...

Photobucket
Lots of skerries on the way to Suomenlinna.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
(The last to pictures were also taken by Aki. :))

And then we went to Tallinn! :D I always wanted to see Estonia, but I never would have thought that I’d see it so soon. Or at least a little, very little part of it. :) This made me even surer that next summer I will make a journey to the Baltic states. :)

Photobucket

Photobucket
Obviously I was too lazy to go outside to take a photo and when I was outside I just didn’t... Anyway, ferry picture! :)

Photobucket
And what’s a reasonable thing to do when new in a city. Climb on a very, very, very high tower. And this time we really had to climb! But the view was really worth it. :)

Photobucket
It was really exhausting!

Photobucket
Oh, pretty, pretty Tallinn! ♥ View on Toompea.

Photobucket
High tech church!

Photobucket
This is where we had lunch. A very cute Estonian "restoran" right at the Raekoja plats (town hall square).

Photobucket
Outside all the places were taken, so we had to go inside which wasn’t too bad. :)

Photobucket
It was so delicious~. ♥

Photobucket
Kiek in de kök. :)

Photobucket
Inside the old town hall pharmacy. Where I also bought some Russian lotion and a bandage because my foot hurt so bad.

Photobucket
Part of the city walls.

Photobucket
My future employer? *g*

Photobucket
There also was a flower contest (Tallinna lillefestival). I have to admit, I kinda love those things. xD

Photobucket

Photobucket
(Maybe that’s mean to say, but the woman in the background kinda scares me...)

Photobucket
Okay, another thing I have to admit: I posted this solely because my eyes look so blue! xD Also, I’m pretty, y/y? (Aki is anyway... tch.)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
And then it was good-bye Tallinn...:(

Photobucket
Not enough places on the boat so everyone just sat on the floor...

So now it’s back to Helsinki.

Photobucket
We visited the open air museum on the island Seurasaari.

Photobucket

Photobucket
The guides that stood around were dressed in clothes from the time. :)

Photobucket
A swing! :D

Photobucket

Photobucket
There were tame squirrels! :D (And we had a discussion about how the word "Eichhörnchen" seems to be impossible to pronounce for non-native speakers (as is "Streichholzschächtelchen"). ;))

Photobucket

Photobucket
There are also lots of parties and concerts in Helsinki! :) (There also was some famous Japanese band whose name I forgot.)

Photobucket
Our dorm room.

Photobucket
This is where I slept! I didn’t sleep too well... :/ And as we can see, it’s really tidy... *coughs*

Photobucket
Bye-bye, Helsinki!

Okay, so that’s it! I warned you, lots of photos! xD

My conclusion is that I want to go back to Finland or Estonia as soon as I have enough time and money. :) It’s just awesome and beautiful! :)

They don't really need the DNA, they just want it XD There is a sort of ID card out just now, but it's like a tester and it's not compulsary. The UK has the largest DNA database in the world. It's getting pretty ridiculous u_u As far as I'm aware, the UK isn't a Schengen state either.

God, the more I think about it, the more I hate this place D: You damn liberated mainlanders!

Sorry for the late answer.

What?! Haha, I'm so uninformed, I didn't even know that. :/

But you also have advantages!
