feeling better

I just wanted to say, thank you all so much for your kind comments. They did make me feel less like an asshole. And after pretty much crying all day yesterday just thinking of the poor dog, I feel better today and think it was the right decision. Even though I miss her already. :( I'm just the person who really likes having pets around, so having the flat so empty again (apart from my flatmates of course) is just a bit sad.

Well, but yeah, feeling better... apart from a massive headache. I took some painkillers I got in London last weekend though (maybe I'll write about that later, but there isn't much to tell anyway...), and wow, do they make me feel woozy. It makes me think there's a good reason you can't get codeine painkillers prescription-free in Germany...

XD

The way I see it is that you obviously feel very pained by having to return her, and tbh, to me that shows that you really had her best interests at heart and did the right thing. When the dog we adopted had to go to another home (after only a day) I felt like the worst person in the world and burst out crying when he was driven away in their car (oh God, here come the tears again) but I'm sure he's having fun with his new family and so will your doggie as well very soon.

There's never a time limit on these things, so maybe try again one day when you're in a better position or maybe there's another animal that you might be better suited to in the near future. I can't wait to get another dog, but unfortunately, Rascal just wasn't the right one, however wonderful he was :( *love*

I really hope so. It was just really so sad to give her back that I cried all the way back, in the metro and everything... I almost changed my mind 10 times over, but I think (or really want to think...) that I made the right decision in the end. :( It's weird though how just thinking about it makes me tear up again and I think it might stay that way for a while, same as you...

I really want to try again, someday, but not too soon, I suppose. Maybe when I either live somewhere with an actual garden or have someone actually helping me. (My flatmate said she wanted to, but in the end she didn't even allow the dog in her room. :( ) Maybe I'll get a cat first, I know I understand them, so maybe... my flatmate has a cat allergy though, so that would have to wait for some time too... it just feels lonely now, yeah. :(

*hug* I hope you find a dog that's a better fit soon, and gets along with the bunnies.

Aww you never said about London! Pity it wasn't this weekend as [livejournal.com profile] angrylogic is there just now :) And codeine painkillers are the best ever...

Yeah, I kind of forgot to talk about it here! I booked it when I was in the middle of my internship and my days were so bland I didn't feel like I had anything to tell... and then I just forgot! I visited a friend I met in Norway who lives there and another friend from Edinburgh came down to visit, it was great fun!

Such a shame I didn't choose this weekend to go, it would've been so fun to meet up!
They really are pretty amazing. They actually helped me a lot more with my headache/migraine today than the painkillers I usually take. Well, I have 31 more tablets... and maybe then I'll have to ask my friend to send me some, hehe.

you can get codeine prescription free in england? wow? they are one of the few painkillers that actually work for me.

get better soon

[identity profile] urania-chan.livejournal.com 2012-10-13 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you can. Well, it's paracetamol + codeine, but yeah. It works really well for me, it's pretty cool. Normally I take Dolormin, but that only works like half the time.

Thank you!

[identity profile] icanseenow.livejournal.com 2012-10-13 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
wow. i sometimes get paracetamol + codeine here prescribed but it's stupid because paracetamol doesn't work for me but I still have to take it together of course... I wish normal pain medicine worked for me though.. I always get Ibuprofen prescribed again and again, i don't know why doctors don't believe you when you tell them stuff doesn't work. Sometimes katadolon works for me, but it gives me a woozy head, too.

[identity profile] icanseenow.livejournal.com 2012-10-13 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I just checked, katadolon/flupirtin actually works better than codeine, but it's not an opiod. Both need to be prescribed anyway, boo.
